Outstanding food! The Signature menu was phenomenal! From start to finish our server Caroline was a fantastic. Each dish was explained beautifully, this made it a very enjoyable experience! Myself and friends were greeted by Chef Raffaella after we finished our meal this was such a nice touch, and also gave us a chance to really say thank to Raffaella for such a lovely meal. A very young talented women indeed! The Rose Veal fillet was the absolute winner for me! I would 100 percent recommend this dish. A Superb Saturday Dinner for 3 friends catching up. We cannot wait to visit again!

We have been to this restaurant before – the reason we returned was the excellence of the food and gentle ambiance. Service is friendly, cheerful and capable and it was very pleasant to see, in true continental style, a well behaved small child and a very discreetly nursed new baby welcomed and kindly accommodated. On this occasion, five of us came for a birthday lunch for one member of the party and had, by pre-arrangement, the full menu exceptionel, with (expertly chosen and generously poured) wine flights. Lunch tables are generally available for two or so hours: we were there for four hours and did not feel rushed at all. If wanting the 7-course menu exceptionel at lunch time, I would recommend doing as I did and asking for this at time of booking as a matter of courtesy. The restaurant is small (though not cramped) and as the full tasting menu takes time to enjoy, it is sensible to make sure you can be accommodated over that time and the staff can still not be rushed to get evening service started. The food was, as it has been before, exceptional: one member of our party, an experienced chef, commented that he considered it the best restaurant he had ever eaten at across a broad experience of many countries. All the food is good: so good it is hard to select a favourite course. The smoked eel custard with the scallop course, and the apple and coconut combination for one of the puddings, perhaps stood out today. I notice one review on here comments unfavourably on the sauce with the (extremely good) Chateaubriand. Whoever wrote that review had clearly never tasted a correctly made demi-glace: it was of superb quality, perfectly clear, and very well-flavoured, displaying an expertise on its maker's part that would have been expected of classical chefs such as Brillat-Savarin or Escoffier. Portions are just right for a seven course menu: one leaves feeling satisfied, but not overstuffed. Presentation is a delight: many photos were taken! All in all a delightful meal, a delightful way to spend a few hours, and many thanks to chef Raffa and her for her handwork, and to Miles for explaining our wines. Looking forward to seeing the next menus for June and July. As for cost – looks too expensive for you? It's not, not for the value and the experience. I'd sooner eat less frequently here, but eat much better,

This restaurant has a classy French feel about it. The tables were immaculate and the music was of our era. Our hosts Miles and Chloe were friendly and attentive. The food was exquisite, squab to start and duck for main. Everything tasted so good and chef Rafaela came and chatted with us at the end of the meal. Truly a beautiful experience, Michelin should give them a star !!!

Our family party of 13 had a celebration dinner at The Chef’s Table last Saturday. Our ages spanned from 2 to 80 and the restaurant catered for all our party, even the 2 year old, who had food brought with us, was heated in the kitchen! The meal was superb, the service impeccable and the wines delectable. We could not have been better looked after and everyone had an evening that will be remembered for a very long time. Our thanks go to the whole team who made a very, very special evening – thank you all so much!

Truly Exceptional A truly exceptional meal. We opted for the seven course tasting as it had good options for my pescatarian partner. Every dish was lovely and showed remarkable flavours and attention to detail. The wine flight was also interesting and very well considered and presented. I don’t agree with one of the comments about the size of the glasses, we felt they were on the generous side and left us enough to sip between courses. It can be a cliché to say “Can’t understand why you don’t have a Michelin star” but in this case it really does apply. Maybe it’s the lack of frippery (amuse-bouche, petit-fours) but they really aren’t needed here. The pricing can make it more of a special occasion venue, though there is now a lighter – and less expensive – lunch menu. Highly recommended.

Fine dining experience We went for lunch on Valentine’s Day and had a 6-course tasting menu with a glass of champagne each to start with. Really nice food, beautifully presented. The turbot main course was particularly memorable. It’s a very small restaurant with tables shoe-horned in for the maximum number of covers. It’s always packed so booking is essential. A £50 deposit was taken at the time of booking and then subtracted from the final bill. There’s good parking right opposite which is unusual considering how anti-car Bristol is! Total bill was £203.06 including drinks and a 12.5% service charge. Definitely recommended for fine dining.

A brilliant evening! I hadn’t been to The Chef’s Table for a while but after last nights visit to celebrate my wife’s birthday with family, I realised what I’d been missing! Conrad’s food has always been excellent and last night it was exceptional! We had the 5 course tasting menu which was excellent and was accompanied by a member of staff explaining each of the choices. Mentioning the staff, well, they were brilliant too and at the end of the evening the Head Chef visited our table to find out our views on our evening.

Valentine YAY 😍 Myself and my partner decided to splurge out this year and book ourselves into a restaurant we would never normally go to. Having heard positive things from friends and colleagues and an impressive Valentine’s Day tasting menu online we were sold! The experience simply couldn’t have been better, our waitress Chloe was exceptional, with knowledge of the dishes and superb customer service skills! The food, what can I say, there wasn’t a dish that didn’t leave me wanting more! My partner who isn’t usually a seafood fan even tried and enjoyed my seafood dishes, every course of the tasting menu left us thinking, wow how can it get any better? After the meal Conrad came out to speak with us and find out how our meal was, you can see the passion within him when speaking with him as well as how that translates into the food. While the price is out of our usual budget the food and service speaks for itself and the price is fully justified, special occasions when we want to splurge out we will definitely be returning! Thank you so much to the team for making it such a special Valentine’s Day celebration for us.

Fantastic! My wife and I visited The Chef’s Table for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, subtly flavoured, decent sized portions and every mouthful was a treat. The service was friendly, knowledgeable but not intrusive and a chat with the chef/proprietor was very much appreciated. Nice restuarant Lovely restaurant and nice food. However, make use you ask for tap water not just water. Waitress was friendly but it was like being a judge on Mater Chef, she went through everything that we were eating. After the meal, the chef came out to see us. It was a nice touch but also cringy.

Fantastic food and wine with passion What a fabulous evening we had . A treat for my wife and myself from our daughter and her partner . We had the 5 course tasting menu with wine flight . Caroline and Miles guided us through each sumptuous taste sensation course by course with passion and knowledge . We have been to several Michelin starred tasting restaurants before and this was truly up there in quality. For friendly atmosphere and value for money you can’t beat this in my opinion . Conrad and his fabulous team deliver an experience that we are very keen to repeat as soon as possible .

Wow! My wife and I visited for lunch and opted for the 7 course tasting menu with wine flight. What a fabulous afternoon we had at this incredible restaurant, absolutely loved it! The staff were brilliant and we had the pleasure of speaking with the Chefs that were making the magic happen for us in the kitchen. We will definitely be returning and can highly recommend a visit to sample the exquisite food and wine on offer . 3 hours of culinary bliss , many thanks to the whole team.

Chef’s table – 5 stars What a fantastic place.. we did not know it was there and after receiving vouchers for our anniversary we booked lunch – and loved it!! Amazing staff, lovely setting, great ambience and top notch food! In my opinion one of the very best places we have eaten – loved it, we will be going back and would 100% recommend – what a find! Disappointing We went to Bristol to celebrate anniversary and wanted to try Chefs Table and booked.The food was delicious. I can’t complain it but when we are doing our booking we mentioned it was our anniversary. When we arrived there they reserved a table next to the toilet and they didn’t say anything about it. Especially when we had our lunch in a different nice restaurant they printed a menu for us our names on it and they congratulated us. When we compare them and When it’s your anniversary and pay a much money for it we were really disappointed.

What a find…. What a find .. an absolute must for any foodie. Accomodating staff, excellent food, fantastic service and a well thought out menu. I had heard such great things and was keen to try the taster menu with my friend. We booked the wrong slot but the staff accomodated and we had the full taster menu. You can watch the chef’s work up magic in the kitchen too. This is such a well thought out concept, great price point too. I plan to return soon and experience it all over again. A must try and a true gem in Bristol.

Excellent Meal My husband took me to the Restaurant for my Birthday. It was the first time we visited The Chef Table and it wont be the last. We had the 7 course tasting menu and ever course was excellent , the flavour and presentation exceptional. The front of house staff were very knowledgeable and a credit to the restaurant. A 7 course wine taster menu with accompanying food. Our first visit. The 7 course taster menu looked good and, more or less, it was. Typically for a taster menu you get 2-3 small starters, a couple of larger “mains”, maybe some cheese and/or a pudding or two. Well the 2 starters were, as expected, quite small. Beautifully presented but too many elements. So, in what is already a small dish, each element is tiny and barely distinguishable. Among its 6 elements the Mille-Feuille included “Brandy-Glazed Carrots”. My piece (singular) of carrot was a very thin, star shaped slice less than a centimetre across. No taste of carrot, no taste of brandy. The scallops were lovely but sadly overpowered by the “Jalapeno Relish”. Again, too many elements. The red mullet main was a good size portion but again no taste of “Anchovy Emulsion” or “Plankton Oil”. I think the Chef’s Table is trying to be unnecessarily clever with its food. Clearly there is a lot of skill and imagination here, it just needs to be refocussed. So, what else? Its was a hot summer’s evening and no obvious aircon. We were in the smaller of the 2 dining areas, just inside the front door. Here the tables are uncomfortably close together – too easy to overhear your neighbour, often difficult to hear what the waitress is saying. Maybe the larger area near the kitchen is more spacious. Background music, fortunately not too loud but nonetheless unnecessary in such a small restaurant. What was excellent was the wine flight and the sommelier. He was very engaging and knew his stuff (based on our pretty good knowledge of wine). An interesting wine selection and good portions. Many thanks to him. Nice that the chef (or one of them) came out to chat at the end but difficult with all noise from other tables. Overall, a little expensive although we would probably go again.
