You will receive a warm Bedouin welcome from Yaseen Hlelat who was born in Wadi Musa, the town on the outskirts of the Rose City, Petra. Katherine and Elias, Yaseen’s wife and son, are also regular faces at Little Petra. Petra is believed to have been settled as early as 9,000 BC. In 1985 it was designated a World Heritage site and in 2007 was named one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. Wadi Musa, meaning the Place of Moses, is where it is believed that Moses touched the rock and water poured out. Visitors are still able to visit the spring.
