Ottoman Kitchen is owned and run by us, the Kaya family, we opened the restaurant in Southampton during the summer of 2019
We originally hail from a farming village in Turkey. We opened Ottoman Kitchen restaurant in Southampton to give people a taste of truly authentic Turkish cooking. To give the the people of Southampton a taste of what Turkish dining is about: fresh quality ingredients, tender meats expertly marinaded and grilled over Charcoal, home-baked breads and of course a warm Turkish welcome.
On opening the restaurant we set out to find the best local suppliers to get the best possible taste. As a family business we also took great care building a team to run the restaurant. We spent many months finding skilled chefs and training our waitress and waiters to understand the Ottoman Kitchen way of doing things, with warmth and friendliness. Nothing should be too much trouble in our restaurant. Our customers are our guests: just as they would be in our home.
We hope you enjoy eating at Ottoman Kitchen. We’re proud to bring truly authentic Turkish cooking to Southampton and we hope you like it.
In October 2019 after being visited by two judges in secret we were nominated for Best Middle Eastern restaurant in the UK award. We attended the finals ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London along with the other nominated restaurants in November 2019. The judges placed us in first position and we were awarded the title of Best Middle Eastern restaurant in the UK. We’re proud to bring the best restaurant award back to the city of Southampton. The judges commented on the quality of our Charcoal cooking and the flavour of our meat dishes. You can see the Best restaurant Trophy inside our restaurant.
We look forward to welcoming you to Ottoman Kitchen, Southampton.
