Fed up with their dull London lives and unappreciative husbands, two ordinary 1920's housewives pool their meagre savings to rent a medieval castle in Italy. Under the Italian sun, they are joined by two very different women to share the cost and the escape. As the unlikely companions clash and bond, they begin to rediscover themselves and a sense of peace.

But their newfound serenity is tested by the arrival of husbands and suitors from home. In the midst of blossoming wisteria and Mediterranean sunshine, the four women must confront their pasts. This heartwarming story of self-discovery and friendship will leave you enchanted.
