In search of fortune and adventure, Ishmael, a humble schoolmaster, ships on the Pequod, a whaleboat sailing out of Nantucket. The skipper, one Captain Ahab, charges his crew to wreak revenge on the white whale that lost him his leg – the infamous Moby-Dick. Ahab’s single-minded pursuit consumes Ishmael, the crew and the Pequod itself.
