It’s a Green Light for Theatres in Northern Ireland!

Northern Ireland is the next country to follow suit with the relaxation of covid-19 restrictions. Over the last few months, countries have slowly begun to lift coronavirus related restrictions, granting people with more freedom to live – and enjoy their lives again.

The reality of getting ‘back to normal’ is far nearer than people originally thought. Especially for Northern Ireland, who have just announced that theatres and concert venues now have the green light to resume performances with live audiences from 6pm on July 27.

This recent announcement regarding venues with live audiences is a part of a wider relaxation of restrictions for public gatherings indoors. The news is gladly welcomed after a long 16 month-period of Covid-19 induced closures. After several postponed reopening's, and a year of uncertainty and false hope, venues across Northern Ireland are ecstatic to be able to bring outstanding entertainment to their visitors – and visitors are also excited to be able to enjoy fantastic events after a lengthy lockdown.

Although the restrictions have eased substantially, procedures and regulations have been put in place to maintain people’s safety. New guidelines will see social-distancing measures still being advised, and pre-booking and allocated seating a condition of venues reopening.

The news of restrictions easing has been positively received overall, however some people have questioned the decision to lift restrictions at a time when Northern Ireland is currently experiencing the highest rate of Covid-19 cases in the UK.
