The Palace and Opera House Theatres in Manchester are BACK!  


Amazing news, right? Two of the most popular theatres in Manchester are reopening their doors in August. After most theatres in the UK and worldwide closed their doors last March due to Covid-19, theatre enthusiasts were thrilled when theatres began to reopen their doors this past month, and announce new and upcoming shows.  


It’s safe to say that theatre goers, musical lovers and general show devotees have been excitedly and eagerly waiting to hear specifically from The Palace and Opera House Theatre in Manchester on when they can return to the stunning venues. Well, the wait is no longer! The announcement has been made! You can now officially book tickets to one of the award-winning musicals, plays, dance and music shows at The Palace and Opera House Theatres.  


It’s been a tough time for the live entertainment industry, and The Palace and Opera House Theatres are thriving to return better than ever! 


 

The Opera House kick starts the new season on the 20th August with Adam Kay’s This has been a time like no other (Secret Diaries of a Junior Doctor), which has previously been seen by over 200,000 people across sell out UK tours, Edenborough Fringes and West End Runs. In case you need another reason to go and see this incredible production, Adam Kay’s book of the same title was a Sunday Times number one bestseller for over a year, and is soon to be a major BBC drama.  


The Palace on the other hand will be opening on August 23rd with the electrifying The Women in Black, a show that has been thrilling audience members for over 30 years in the West End, and has become a true classic for theatre lovers. It’s definitely the perfect show to breathe chilling life back into the darkened Palace Theatre.  


As we mentioned previously, The Palace and Opera House Theatres re-opening season features award-winning musicals. That's right, ladies and gentleman prepare yourselves because coming to Manchester from the West End for the first time is HeathersWaitress, and School of Rock the musicals. Oh, and not forgetting that three BRAND-NEW musicals Bed Knobs and BroomsticksThe Cher Show and The Osmonds will soon be landing in theatres!  


This season also sees the return of much-loved musicals including Dirty DancingHairsprayGrease, and of course, the rock and roll anthemed filled Bat out of Hell and Rock of Ages. Winter sees the return of the phenomenal hit The Book of Mormon. You’ve got all of these sensational musicals to come and much more!
