This is a largish and slightly upmarket inn belonging to Samuel Smiths. There are two bars, a public entered at the side and a lounge accessed through the main door off the High Street; there is also a large dining room at the back with a real fire in winter, and at the front on the left is the rather grandiose 'Oak Room' with its own real fire. The pub is a Grade II listed building
