About The Grapes

The Grapes sits around the corner from Theatre Royal Bath, close to the city's main venues. Production teams, performers and touring companies have been finding their way here for years.

We understand theatre life. The late finishes, the need for somewhere that isn't closed when you finally get out, the value of a proper drink in a place that doesn't require performance of any kind.

What We Offer

A bar that stays open until 1am most nights, 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. A building that's been a public house since 1792, with the atmosphere that comes from centuries of people passing through. Local ales, grain-to-glass spirits, wines chosen with care. Staff who know the rhythm of show nights and won't rush you through your decompression.

The Space

Wednesday jazz sessions, Thursday traditional Irish folk, Saturday vinyl DJs, Sunday afternoon live music. Between shows, our bartenders spin records from behind the bar. The garden is open when the weather allows. The building is Grade II listed Jacobean, warm lighting throughout, the kind of place where you can have a quiet conversation or settle in for the long haul.
