Afrizi Festival Place,, 1 Clapham House, Basingstoke, RG21 7BA
Afrizi started with Ezekiel’s love and passion to cook.
When he was a young boy back in Nigeria, he helped his mum in the kitchen, preparing meals for the family, learning how to cook and how to create flavourful dishes for everyone to enjoy.
When moving to the UK, Ezekiel noticed a lack of options for African food and from that his personal mission took route…
…His dream of one day opening his very own restaurant was in his mind, one that would break the norm, challenge people’s taste buds and educate everyone about African food.
Fast forward some years, the dream was still there but yet to become a reality.
COVID hit and lockdowns happened, Ezekiel lost his job, which he turned into an opportunity.A couple years of learning how to run a business, making a business plan, working with Festival Place in Basingstoke. Afrizi found its first home. After a few months of labour and building/decorating/installing everything himself, with the help of family and friends…
Afrizi’s doors first opened May 11th 2022.
