Strange 80s debuts in London on the 28th & 29th March 2019 following sell out future-retro nights with some of the world’s greatest artists performing in L.A.
In collaboration with stars of the Netflix smash-hit series Stranger Things, Strange 80s is a future-retro, 80s-inspired immersive music experience featuring celebrity hosts and a rotating cast of legendary rock stars covering their favourite anthems of the 80s.
With live performances from members of Public Service Broadcasting, Talking Heads, The Offspring, EMF plus DJ Yoda and cast members of Stranger Things, The Walking Dead and 13 Reasons Why - playing their favourite 80s hits in an immersive, 80s-inspired world, the party doesn’t stop. New Romantic, Punk, Metal Head, Skater or New Wave - dress to impress and we’ll do the rest.
Featuring Intergalactic collaborations with real rock stars, and a smattering of good souls from the world of TV, Film and Comedy, Strange 80s embodies the star-studded, over-the-top, glam and glitz decadence of the world’s favourite decade.
With time-bending production and design values reflecting the era’s pop-culture dominion, the genuine 80s vibe includes an original 80s video game arcade installation, a celeb-powered hair and make up salon, skateboard halfpipe, and a Delorean (TBC - if it makes it back from 1955). This is the first time Strange 80s has come to the UK, after two wild nights at The Fonda Theatre, Los Angeles, and tickets will McFly.
Most importantly though, we’re all here to raise funds for our musical brethren. Musicians often have nothing to fall back on when times are hard, when illness strikes, or in retirement. Help Musicians UK is there for them in crisis, retirement, or for early stage funding. Strange 80s is fund raising for them and their 24-hour mental health support line #MusicMindsMatter and for the Music Venue Trust who fight for the future of the UK’s grassroots venues - the breeding grounds for all of our musical careers.
Come dressed in your 80s best, and prepare to be amazed by Strange 80s immersive salute to the greatest music decade ever.
